The story follows two people who are awakened from hibernation 90 years too early aboard a spacecraft bound for a new planet. With their lives ticking away, they must find a way to save the ship and return to Earth. Their only option is to return to sleep or face certain death, they decide to explore the ship’s strengths and weaknesses and eventually fall in love.

The film was met with mixed reviews from critics, who praised the acting of Pratt and Lawrence but criticized the plot for its lack of originality. It grossed $303 million worldwide against a budget of $110 million.

Ad Astra

Ad Astra is a 2019 science fiction film directed by James Gray and starring Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, and Donald Sutherland. The plot follows Roy McBride (Pitt), an astronaut who travels to Mars in order to find his father (Jones), who disappeared during a mission there 20 years earlier. After waking from a 20-year hibernation pod, he discovers that all humans died out, leaving only plants and animals. Roy has to find a way back to Earth while learning more about himself along the way.

Ad Astra is visually stunning and has an excellent cast. It’s a great story of hope and survival in the face of adversity. It was met with mixed reviews from critics, but many praised its visuals and performances. It grossed over $183 million at the global box office. We highly recommend it!


Prometheus is a science fiction film that stars Noomi Rapace, Logan Marshall-Green, Michael Fassbender, and Charlize Theron. The story revolves around the archeologists Elizabeth Shaw and Charlie Holloway as they search for humanity’s origins. They come across a map located in a cave near a volcano in Scotland. In the year 2089, a group of scientists has found a way to access a new type of energy. The group includes Elizabeth Shaw and Charlie Holloway. They find out that a star which is a solar system away from earth has been destroyed by the alien race known as the Engineers. The film takes place twenty years later as they are about to travel down to this distant planet with the hope of answering some never answered questions about who these engineers may be and what they want from us.

This movie is full of suspense as it has many twists and turns. There are many types of aliens in this movie but it’s not too hard to follow what is going on most of the time. The setting takes place mostly on a ship that is very dark with lots of steady lights and flashing lights throughout the film. Prometheus makes for a great scary sci-fi adventure at theaters now with lots of action and special effects.

The movie was well-received by critics and grossed over $403 million worldwide against its production budget of $130 million. It has been considered to be much better than Steven Spielberg’s 1979 classic “Alien”.


Oblivion is a 2013 American science fiction action film. The film is set in the near future. Earth has been devastated by war, and much of humanity lives in an underground bunker called “Oblivion”. A veteran soldier named Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth, tasked with destroying malfunctioning drones that attack humans or escape into the wasteland. After completing his task, Jack returns to Oblivion for retirement with his co-worker and lover, Victoria (Andrea Riseborough).

One day, massive alien ships arrive and strip the Earth’s surface. They use drones to guard their operation. Fourteen years later, Jack is alerted to damage on the ground level and finds that the aliens are using human slaves to rebuild their ships. When Jack’s clearance is revoked and he is captured, he meets Julia (Olga Kurylenko), one of the slaves. He helps her escape and discovers that Victoria is also alive. Together, they find a way to destroy the alien ships and liberate humanity.

Oblivion was directed by Joseph Kosinski, who wrote the screenplay with Karl Gajdusek and Michael Arndt. The film stars Tom Cruise, Andrea Riseborough, Olga Kurylenko, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Melissa Leo. It was produced by Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark, Duncan Henderson, and Alex Garland. Oblivion received mixed reviews from critics. The film was a box office success, grossing more than $286 million worldwide against an estimated budget of $120-$150 million. It was released on DVD and Blu-ray on July 9, 2013.
