The film stars Maggie Gyllenhaal as Lee Holloway, a young woman who agrees to become the dominatrix of her reclusive lawyer boss (James Spader).

5. 9 ½ Weeks

9 1/2 Weeks is a 1986 erotic drama film starring Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger. The film was directed by Adrian Lyne from a screenplay written by Joseph Minion. It tells the story of an erotic relationship between a woman (Basinger) and a man (Rourke). The relationship is based on sexual obsession and she falls in love with him.

The Wolf Of Wall Street is a 2013 American biographical black comedy crime film directed by Martin Scorsese and written by Terence Winter Based on the memoir of the same name by stockbroker Jordan Belfort. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jordan Belfort, a New York stockbroker who runs a firm that engages in securities fraud and corruption on Wall Street in the 1990s.

8. Shame

Shame is a 2011 British drama film directed and co-written by Steve McQueen, starring Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan as grown siblings. The film follows Brandon (Fassbender), a thirty-something man living in New York City who has a sex addiction. His sister, Sissy (Mulligan), is an addict whose own promiscuity ruin’s her marriage.

9. From Here to Eternity

From Here to Eternity is a 1953 American drama film directed by Fred Zinnemann, from a screenplay adapted by Daniel Taradash. The picture is based on the novel of the same name by James Jones. It tells in flashback the story of Private Robert E. Lee Prewitt, an infantry soldier stationed in Hawaii before the Second World War. Prewitt transfers from his rifle company to bugle boy in the regimental band. His first tight friendship is with “Maggio”, a fellow soldier who eventually gets into trouble because of his association with Prewitt, whose friends beat Maggio until he collapses, leading to Prewitt being court-martialed.

10. Irreversible

Irreversible is a 2002 French psychological thriller drama film written and directed by Gaspar Noé, featuring a cast of mostly first-time actors. The film is also known under the French title  Irréversible. It was partly inspired by Noé’s short film “Carne”. It has a very distinctive look, is shot in black and white, and is done partly in reverse chronology. The film uses both digital and traditional camera techniques to portray its central theme of time as unidirectional. It features several scenes with sexual content.

11. Lolita (1997)

Lolita is a 1997 ertoic drama film directed by Adrian Lyne and written by Stephen Schiff. A long-term project of director Lyne, who had wanted to make a film about the Vladimir Nabokov novel for years and originally hired Jeremy Irons to play Humbert Humbert, since this time he has stated that he would have been more interested in directing a version with an older Humbert played by an unknown actor.

12. Body Heat 

Body Heat is a 1981 erotic crime-drama film written and directed by Lawrence Kasdan. The film stars William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Richard Crenna, Ted Danson, Mickey Rourke, and J.A. Preston. The plot has been compared to Double Indemnity by James M. Cain and Farewell, My Lovely by Raymond Chandler. In some scenes throughout the film it is suggested that the character of Matty uses her sexuality to get what she wants from men.

13. Gia

Gia is a 1998 ertoic biographical drama film directed by Michael Cristofer and starring Angelina Jolie in the title role. It tells the story of Gia Marie Carangi, a model who became the first famous supermodel in the late seventies and early eighties before dying of AIDS at age 26.
